JS Bach’s St John Passion
Apr 1 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Prepare for the Easter season with a performance of JS Bach’s St John Passion by the Lincoln Cathedral Choir in the stunning nave accompanied by the Manchester Baroque Orchestra, the older of two surviving Passions by Bach. Aric Prentice will conduct.

The piece was written during Bach’s first year as director of church music in Leipzig and was first performed at St. Nicholas Church on Good Friday, 1724. Compared with Bach’s later Passions, the St John Passion has been described as more extravagant, with an expressive immediacy, at times raw and unbridled. All tickets: £8/£12/£17.
